ABOUT
Elizabeth Lawson, LCSW
Between my work as a licensed clinical social worker and my previous career as an educator in the public schools, I have over twenty-five years experience educating and supporting individuals in their efforts to grow and learn. I work with individuals who are living with mood disorders and those seeking to navigate life’s challenges and their emotions more effectively. Providing a supportive, encouraging, and safe space in which to process experiences and emotions is my overarching goal. As a Certified Daring Way Facilitator, I apply the research of Dr. Brené Brown to help clients learn to overcome the negative effects of shame and reach a place of wholehearted living. I also offer workshops using The Daring Way curriculums including Gifts of Imperfection, Daring Greatly, and Rising Strong. I received a Bachelor’s of Science in Education from Illinois State University, a Master’s of Arts in Teaching from Rockford University, and a Master’s of Social Work from Aurora University. I have completed training in Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
